Frank: TxDOT (memo below) has informed they are going to mark 4th Street as four full lanes from Main St to Burkett St. This will eliminate parking along 4th St near Heritage Square on both sides of the street. The traffic volume on 4th St requires 4 full lanes and parking along 4th St creates a safety concern. Of course, there will be a right turn only lane at Main St. The good news is they will be resurfacing 4th St from Main to the East Loop which will be nice. -Casey From: Paula Gold [PGOLD@dot.state.tx.us] Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2003 2:14 PM To: Casey Sledge Subject: B 79 B, 4th Street Improvements Casey, TxDOT is proposing the make improvements to B 79 from SH 95 east to US 79. The work shall include milling, spot full depth repair, 2" hot mix asphaltic concrete pavement and pavement markings. The existing section of roadway is striped for 4 lanes from Burkett Street east to US 79. We are proposing to stripe the remaining section from SH 95 (Main Street) to Burkett Street as a 4 lane section to be continuous with the configuration throughout this entire section of roadway. It will consists of 4 - 12' lanes and a 4' shoulder on each side. Westbound at SH 95, the right lane shall be a right turn only lane as there is only one receiving lane on the west side of SH 95. Please see the attached sheet showing the striping configuration and the typical section. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call. Thanks, Paula Paula G.
